Red’s Threads began as a dream for owner and Quad Cities native Nora Loss, who was given the nickname Red by her friends and family. Her dream became a reality in 2019 as her shop carries many different high-quality athleisure brands for both men and women. The entire athleisure spectrum can be found under one roof, from true workout gear to polos and slacks that could be worn to work. Perfumes, jewelry, and workout equipment can also be found in her store.

The idea for the store began when Loss first began attending yoga classes with one of her close friends. After a few sessions, she started practicing yoga more frequently and then eventually became a yoga instructor herself. Many of her students would ask for recommendations for places to find quality leggings and athleisure in general. That’s when she realized the need that could be filled in the Quad Cities

Loss wanted people to have access to quality athleisure beyond what big box stores and online shopping has to offer. She believes that trying on clothes in person makes all the difference, so that people can truly find what is comfortable to them. That can’t happen online and Red’s Threads offers a more personalized and helpful experience than most of the big box stores. A discount is also offered to other yoga and fitness instructors!

Aside from creating a unique shopping experience, Loss also creates community involvement events to engage those around her. She will host yoga sessions in her store by moving the merchandise racks and opening up the floor.
