Skeleton Key Art and Antiques is one of Rock Island’s most unique stores. This one of a kind boutique carries local art, decor, fashion, jewelry, and more made by local Quad City artists, and also vintage collections.
Brandy VandeWalle was inspired to open Skeleton Key nine years ago when realizing how much art talent the QC had to offer, and wanted to start a business showcasing the many artists that surrounded the area. Both Brandy and her husband, John, own the store, and many of John’s metal sculptures are sold at Skeleton Key. You can find these incredible works of art all around the outside of the building.
Skeleton Key is an amazing way for local artists to gain exposure, and for residents or tourists of the Quad Cities to find new and beautiful pieces of art. The VandeWalles' vision of allowing the public to see what QC artists can create has been a success, and has helped grow the arts community.
Brandy and John are also part of the team behind The Rock Island Artists’ Market, which takes place in the parking lot of Skeleton Key on June 12, July 17, and September 25. This market allows for even more local artists to present their work to the public, and a fun way for customers to see one of a kind and unique art they can purchase.
