The Spotlight Theatre

1800 7th Ave, Moline IL 61265

Entertain for an evening, inspire for a lifetime

If you’re looking for a community space with a multitude of theater experiences, The Spotlight Theatre has you covered. They offer a range of theatre experiences, from children’s camps to mainstage community theatre productions. Performances are open to the public, however not all are suited for every audience. The company is owned and run by QC native Brent Tubbs and his wife, Sara. There are multiple opportunities for all ages to be involved at the Spotlight Theatre, from their Children’s Theatre Company to attending a Tubbs and (Mason) Moss performance in the jazz lounge.

Anyone is able to audition for Spotlight Theatre productions, and upcoming audition dates and show seasons are regularly posted on their website and Facebook page. If community members are interested in being involved on the technical side of Spotlight and volunteering behind the scenes, they can email info@thespotlighttheatre.com

Ticket prices range from $10-20 for different events, and can be bought on their website or at the door.

The building where the Spotlight Theatre is located was formerly a Scottish Rite Cathedral, originally completed in 1930. The Masonic bodies of Moline Valley were located there until they sold Quad City natives Adam Bain and Blake Humphrey the building in 2018. Since their ownership, the building has been home to several businesses. The Tubbs still use the original theater space, and many of the Masons’ original backdrops and costumes were left for the Spotlight.

Other businesses located at this address include The Market, Blueprint Bar and Lounge, and Spotlight Event Center
